In the previous months, Mercury’s House Comics’ website has gotten quite the facelift! And there’s even more improvements in the works.
For now, here’s a rundown of all the changes we’ve made to the website if it’s been a while since you’ve come around.
Content Schedule Updates
As Above
As Above’s first chapter has been completed and is fully available to read with a login! The process of getting this comic together has been long and difficult, with a lot of learning along the way. If you’ve stuck through it since the beginning when it was only a few pages of the prologue, through the many months of limbo until November of 2024 finally kicked off with an update every month, I’d like to personally thank you for your support and love. This project has been a long time coming for me, but it’s not been easy as there were many challenges throughout that first year of 2024.
That being said, 2025 is off to a much better start!
You can expect monthly updates to As Above and this has been consistent since November. The exact release date is a little hard to predict due to the entire illustrative process being done by one person, but readers can expect an update every calendar month— even if it’s only a few pages towards are larger chapter.
Currently, Chapter 2 is in development and is scheduled to be released in full sometime in late April. This can be read for free, as always, with a login.
Unfortunate
If you’ve been following me since early 2024, you may remember my first comic titled “Unfortunate” about the thief named Pan who becomes the apprentice to the God of the Second Star, King Mes to learn magic. Pan and Mes’s story is finally moving to MHC and is fully free to read and public just like the first time. Though, I’d love to see you in the comments if you’d want to sign up. Drop a comment and let me know if you’re reading for the first time, or a return reader! Every new member and comment helps and by showing your support you can help this project grow.
Since this comic is completed, two chapters will be re-uploaded every Monday. Chapters 0-3 are live and available to read now!
Website Changes
As you may have noticed, the Mercury’s House Comics website has come a long way from the days of the blurry As Above chapter 1 cover and a single “sign up now” button. We’ve been working hard to build out this site to provide more information, content, and easier navigation as well as clarity to what exactly the different story projects are and what the sign up tiers do.
As Above now has it’s own category in our navigation so that as we build out extras for this series, you can find all of the relevant information in one place. The same goes for Unfortunate. A quick glance at the header’s drop down menus for these categories will show that we are working on some additional bits of content to improve the experience of engaging with the universe of As Above. Character Bio pages for both stories is expected to be finished later this month with improved art added throughout the year. Additional content projects will be announced later this Spring/Summer.
For ease of navigation, the Sign Up and Login pages have been separated as well for less confusion when existing members go to login.
If you do check out our sign up page, you will see more information on the different tiers. As of now, all content is free to read— requiring a sign up for As Above helps to protect the artwork in an ever changing world that now includes indiscriminate content scraping across the public facing internet. Every new member helps this project to grow and if you are able to afford a paid tier, you’ll be doing even more to support an independent artist. There are plans to include paid-only content later this year. But we are taking it slow to prioritize ensuring a consistent upload schedule for the main story.
Other improvements include a Contact page, FAQ, and Account page under the “Other” category in the navigation header. The Home page has also gotten improvements to offer the latest chapter updates at a quick glance and a clear view of the two works readers can find from Mercury’s House Comics. And with this post, we will have officially launched a Newsfeed to bring you more detailed updates on what’s happening.
We have added a check box in sign up and in the account page to opt-in for email updates on the stories. This will be better refined as time goes and we will be using an email platform that will allow you to opt-out easily if need be. Our first email will be going out once Chapter 2 is live to read.
Planned Updates
Tentatively, the schedule for new stuff is as follows:
- Character Bio pages will be added for both stories by the end of April with new characters added to the As Above page as they are introduced in the story.
- Paid tier only content will be released regularly by the end of May and available on the site.
- Email notifications on chapter updates and important news by the end of April.
- Additional announcements before the end of June.
