An extended update on what’s to come in 2026 for As Above and Mercury’s House Comics
Media, culture, and how we interact with it changes constantly. As a creator, I have to keep vigilant to understand what is in and what is out and know when to adjust. Over the course of 2024-2025, Mercury’s House Comics has put out hundreds of pages of comics all through independent publishing and a single human artist.
As Above is far from over, but the way that this story is told needs to be adjusted.
(I’m about to be vague, but let this be clear: I am not talking about generative AI or machine learning.)
Being a one-man crew responsible for every moving part behind these projects, there’s a lot of variables that I have to consider. A lot has been achieved, and I’m proud of what has been created thus far. But there’s also a lot to be desired. Instead of cutting corners to move the story forward and running into delays again anyway, something bigger than production schedules and social media posting needs to change.
For two years, I’ve tried many different options and processes. With the production of Chapter 6, I’ve had to come to the conclusion that the classic comic format is not the best fit for the story I want to tell. It’s not within my limited capabilities, and it doesn’t fit into Mid-2020’s independent media culture.
So I have decided to get weird about it.
New ways of storytelling have popped up in recent years, and I have a vision in mind for where I want this to go. My life has been a series of pivots that all lead to varying degrees of grief and failure, but everything that I learned along the way has finally come in handy. And if I combine all of these skills and lessons together, along with a few months head start before I release anything else, I feel pretty confident that the vision I have will work—
One that will allow me to tell these stories the way they were meant to be told and still deliver high quality, human-made art.
I have the vision. I have the plan. I only need a few months to make sure that I have all my shit together before I make any promises.
I will be announcing more of what’s to come towards the end of the Winter season when I have more to show for it. Until then, thank you for following along and supporting! And I hope to see you on socials as teasers and updates trickle out over the next few months. (Including finally getting into short form video!)
If you have any concern, feel free to reach out to me on socials or at info@mercuryshousecomics.com
Take care, and happy new year!

P.S. For paid-tier members who signed up before December 31st, 2025:
I will continue to post behind the scenes exclusive looks at this process. My goal is to upload a few art pieces a month to uphold the value of your subscription. As of now I’m expecting to grandfather you in so there will be no change to your sliding scale access to benefits. If that changes I will notify you all as soon as I can.
I will be sending an email before this happens to let you all know of the changes and what does or doesn’t effect you.
