FAQ
What are the differences in the paid tiers?
As of now (16 Feb 2025) there are no differences. This is a sliding scale opt-in support model for readers who would like to help me keep this story going. Eventually, a paid subscription at the minimum fee will be required to access future chapters. By that time we hope to have more special content available for higher payment tier members.
Why do I have to sign up?
The internet poses a new set of difficulties for independent artists these days. Having my comics behind a login allows me to protect my art from automatic content scraping. In addition, it provides me with more moderation options in comments to protect my readers from potentially harmful spam.
I can’t login/I’m having a technical issue with my account.
Please reach out to me with the email found on our contact page.
What is the update schedule?
Unfortunate will be re-released through Mercury’s House Comics with the start date to be announced soon. This comic has already been completed and released for free on other platforms, so it is a far more simple process.
As Above is a more intensive process as it is being illustrated on an ongoing basis. To maintain this level of quality, I have to allow a more lenient schedule. Currently, As Above is updated with at least a few pages every calendar month. As support grows and we receive more paid subscriptions, a faster paced schedule may become possible in the future.
Do you feature fan art?
Yes!!! You can email your *safe for work* fan art to info@mercuryshousecomics.com but please keep it PG-13 as I will be featuring it on the home page of our site!
You may tag HD in your social media posts if you are a legal adult but please do not expect a reply or interactions. (If I am able to, I will!)
Will you be sharing character color pallets?
They are in process! I understand the concern regarding accurate depiction of skin tone in art and have been working to develop an appropriate value scheme to share for fan artists to use. Current on page values are toned down for contrast and intended ONLY for use in grey-scale color schemes (with the lightest skin tones being a direct 0% value off the background).
Where can I follow updates on social media?
Mercury’s House Comics social media is currently in development.
Until then, HD has personal accounts on Blue Sky & Instagram, under the handle @cazimiz
Comic update announcements can be followed there along with other art content for our titles. However, as these are personal accounts, HD’s personal interests regarding fandom and astrology are also frequent topics on these pages and all accounts are rated for adult audiences +18.
What are your Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning Model policies?
As Above, Unfortunate, and any other art and comics by HD or Mercury’s House Comics are not authorized for use or training in AI/ML. No exceptions.
Can I post screenshots of the comic on social media?
Small crops of your favorite part of the scenes and pages are pretty standard in fan spaces. But please be mindful of the dangers of content scraping.
Full page re-uploads, even to color, are prohibited.
Small cropped images for personal, non-profit use without ads on social media accounts for the sake of sharing a love of the story will be permitted as long as this is not abused. Mercury’s House Comics and the creator HD reserves the right to revoke this permission at any point without explanation or warning. We kindly request that any uploads of our original content be ran through Glaze first.
Re-uploaded content for the sake of bypassing payment is strictly prohibited. I’m an independent artist and creator, not a corporate entity, don’t be a dick.
Can I create fan content? Edits/fanfiction/fan art?
Yes! Please send it to me if you do! You can email it directly or tag me on any social media.
For edits, please follow the previous protocol with regards to reuploading cropped screen captures of the pages.
Note: Use of these characters in racist or hateful depictions is prohibited.
Why are your comics rated 18+?
Paid tiers will feature explicit adult content.
Future story arcs will feature adult themes.
This story is for a mature audience and is not recommended for children, minors, or sensitive viewers.
