Email Notifications, What’s that About?

This week, we are launching email notifications!

This is exciting, because it means that all of our readers get to follow along with updates, even if they aren’t keeping up on social media. But for some of you, this might have been a reminder of something you signed up for a while ago and then forgot about. 

If you have any questions or concerns, this post is meant to help answer some of those.

Here we will cover the following concerns:

Did you add me to the list automatically?

No, as mentioned in the email, what was sent to our members was only a courtesy reminder. This website has changed entirely since some of our readers signed up a year ago and may be interested in keeping up with new chapters. Others may not! And that’s okay. Back then, we did not have the function to opt-in for notifications and now we do. Even if you decide to opt-out, we wanted to at the very least remind you that you signed up for something.

If you want to opt-in, you can follow this link or the one in your email. It requires a double confirmation. But in order to respect data privacy laws, we cannot do it for you unless you contact us directly and request it. 

Where am I? I don’t remember this site at all

A lot of our readers signed up back when As Above was primarily promoted through the HD Astrology TikTok account. With all of the back and forth news about the US app over the last year, HD/Hudson (I) decided to lock the account and reviving it has not ben a priority (but that might change in the future). Regardless, we haven’t been active there for a year now. In that time, updates had been a bit irregular through 2024  and the site has changed a LOT from back then. Because of all of these reasons, it’s totally understandable that some of you might not remember who we are or what this website is. 

So welcome back! We’d love it if you stuck around and checked things out a bit. As Above updates have been on a consistent monthly schedule for about six months now. If you’re still confused, I’d head over to the Read Unfortunate page, because that might jog your memory. 

How do I opt-out?

Do nothing! Your email will not be added to our mailing list unless you click the link mentioned earlier. 

If you do get an additional email, please let us know! You can contact us by email and we will remove your information promptly and investigate what caused the issue to begin with.

I can’t remember my password

You can request a new one using the password reset function on the login page. The email connected to your account will be the one that received the first courtesy email that we sent out. If you have any issues with this, please reach out and let us know.

I want to delete my account

If you do not see this function through your account page then please reach out to us through the email found on our contact page.

Please make sure to use the email connected to your Mercury’s House Comics account if you are requesting a deletion of your data. 

I sent an email and haven’t heard back

Email support is ran by one person (me, Hudson/HD). As mentioned on our contact page, please allow up to 72 hours before sending a follow up. If more than 72 hours has passed, you can also reach out through the social medias mentioned in our FAQ (found under the question Where Can I Get Updates on New Chapters?), though we prefer that you send us an email so that we can verify that the correct person is requesting information. 

I’m excited to be back but so much has changed, where do I start?!

We are excited to have you back! And we’ve put a lot of effort into this website to improve your experience in the time you’ve been away.

If you’d like to start from the beginning of the story, we recommend starting with a refresher on Unfortunate, then move on to the main story of As Above which will require you to login after the second chapter but is still free to read! After that, you can check out the As Above character bios page for more snippets of lore and details on each character.
